From Every Mountainside, Let Freedom Ring

Earlier today, I put aside all other work to write a post about how excited I was about Obama's speech tonight, right down the road on the mountainside of Denver, on the anniversary of MLK's I Have A Dream speech . . . how the dream has been realized, at least in part . . . how I went from total love-at-first-visionary-lyrical-turn-of-phrase with Obama four years ago, then had a complicated honeymoon phase through the whole Edwards and Hillary thing, and am now ardent all over again because this is an unforgettable moment in time and we can't, we CAN'T, survive four more years of reactionary macho old-white-men conservatism. We can and should hold Obama's feet to the fire on women's issues and end the silence on sexism, but I believe he and only he of the two remaining contenders in this race will put us back on a road of integrity, peace, opportunity, compassion and vision. It has never felt more important.

I was just getting started on how all this relates to textiles and art and craft, and believe me, I can connect those dots in all kinds of ways (fortunately we have a few months before the election for you to indulge me in that).

Then . . . . then, the power went out and I lost the whole post. So, with no more time today, I'm going to leave you with some quotations. Listen to that speech tonight!

I agree with you entirely - he is so inspiring and really has gotten so many people involved. I hope that it is possible to carry through so many of his dreams!
