All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all
John Lennon and Paul McCartney, In My Life
I was a senior in college when John Lennon was shot, on December 8, 1980. As a fine arts major, I had a beautiful painting studio on campus, and that evening I was painting and talking with my friend Richard Eisermann, who went by Max in those days and who went on to do very big and brilliant things. The news came on the radio, and we were speechless and stunned.
It was one of those unforgettable, barely believable, sad moments that my generation has had so many of; another human being, trying his best to stand for peace, gone in a shocking act of violence.
If I knew how to transfer slides to digital images, I'd show you what I was painting and printing then. Anybody know the easiest way to do that?
A slide scanner. I have a flatbed scanner that has special holders for slide scanning.
