Yes, I think we do need to remember the audacious cowgirls. Good role models. I love the clothing. We should all have more fun with our clothing and be more audacious as well as a little irreverent. This post is a good reminder.

Are those SERIOUSLY your boots? If so, you have won the boot prize for sure! I have a friend who inherited her grandfather's boot collection (they wear the same size) and I am bettin she would swoon over yours! I should show you my vintage embroidered pearl snap shirt sometime.

I like to think of my musical preferences as closer to Americana than country as it is vastly different than most of the overly saccerine top 40 that comes to most minds when you country music is mentioned. Again, KPIG solidified that sense of difference for me. I once listened to typical country, but that was nearly 20 years ago and my musical tastes have since expanded. Emmylou of the early 1980s is so vastly different from Wrecking Ball, the album that re-launched her career about the same time as the rise of alt-country caught the attention of so many.

Thanks for redirecting our attention to the wonderful arts that represent our notions of country, and to rekindling ideas for adornment that represents our culture!
