I've finally updated my picture (on the right). That other picture was 11 or 12 years old and was beginning to feel a little fraudulent. The new one is what I look like today, unretouched and mostly unapologetic, on a June afternoon in 2009, taken by Jason Reid in Loveland, Colorado.
One more note on the Surface Design Association conference - they had a fantastic group of vendors selling many beautiful treasures, including the lovely Theresa of Bohemian Element. Theresa lives the life of a true global textile explorer, among other things; she's got beautiful fabric and textile art supplies and is fascinating and fun. Visit her Web site and be inspired.
I love your blog, always gives me something to think about. I am delighted that you mention my dear friend, Theresa, and her fabulous company, Bohemian Elements--I am constantly amazed by her knowledge of world textiles, and the beauty of her offerings! Besides, she is so funny, and generous and warm!

The new photo is great! But I didn't think the other one looked outdated, so you must not have aged much in 11 or 12 years.
